It's been quite some time since PGSPokerStrategy won the Extreme Masters in front ofH2k(now Gravitas) at CeBIT last year. ESL will once again be hosting this very popular tournament going on until March 2008.
The qualifications for the second season has ended and four groups consisting of twenty four teams will participate in the 285.000 $Extreme Masters season II. The tournament kicks off this coming Monday at 19.00CETwith three opening matches.
The three opening matches are all matches from group A.
The ESWC champions PGShas been going down hill ever since they won the ESWC final versus NoA, will they be able to come back with full force in this dynamite group? Trying to do it had for PGS to do well, will be the Extreme Masters LA., winners fnatic. fnatic has been on a break since the LA. event, with vacations and anything but CS. The new aAalineup has been predicted great success, but will the team really stand a change? The Russian team Virtus.proalso ended up in group A, the team delivers fine results every now and then, but it's hard to predict if they will manage to do so in this group. The Danish team Spirit of Amigacome directly from BattleIT #5, where they chocked many by beating Gravitas and taking one map from NoA in the final. Despite the fine results on home soil, will the team have what it takes versus these international teams? Last team in group A are the German team mTw.PokerRoom. The team are for now playing with the former 69N-28E player natu. Does it affect the team that they have to communicate in English and can they shine in this group?
We will be a lot wiser tomorrow where these six teams kicks off the Extreme Masters season II starting from 19.00CET.
